National FFA Convention… Prior to making the trip to Texas Motor Speedway for this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) WinStar World Casino 350, Dakoda Armstrong will join his primary sponsor, WinField at the 2013 National FFA Organization Convention and Expo. Each year, the FFA National Convention draws approximately 50,000 students from around the country to learn about potential careers, the future of agriculture, products and many other categories from over 450 of the industry’s top exhibitors. This year’s FFA National Convention will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, from Wednesday, October 30, through Saturday, November 2. Armstrong will make an appearance from 10 am-5 pm on Wednesday at the WinField exhibition space with his NCWTS No. 60 WinField Chevrolet Silverado on display.

A former student in his high school’s FFA program, Armstrong realizes the importance of the education on the future of agriculture in our country. Teaming up with WinField, the young NCWTS driver hopes to help extend the company’s reach to FFA students at the convention and help educate the future farmers about the solutions and industry-leading products WinField provides.

Final Three, Number One… Nearing the finale of the first full NCWTS season of his career, Indiana-native Armstrong is looking to build up momentum through the final three races of 2013 to propel him into the off-season. Returning to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend after a solid performance in June, he hopes to continue his recent gain in the NCWTS point standings and improve on his best finish of 11th thus far at the 1.5-mile facility.

“The changes we’ve made this season after the first half with this WinField team have really started to gain us some ground in the last few races,” Armstrong said. “I’m really looking forward to Texas because I’ve always liked running there and I think we’ll have a good baseline to start with after a strong run in June.”

This Weekend’s WinField Silverado… Utilized just once prior to this weekend, chassis No. 015 has been prepared by crew chief Richie Wauters and the No. 60 team for NCWTS competition at Texas Motor Speedway. Converted to a Chevrolet, this specific chassis was used by Wauters Motorsports at Pocono Raceway earlier this season.

Previous Race Recap: Martinsville… Visiting the final short track on the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule, Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 60 WinField team headed to Martinsville Speedway last Saturday afternoon. Rebounding from a practice crash that forced the team to a backup truck, Armstrong stayed out of trouble but was mired in traffic due to a one-lane racing groove for most of the Kroger 200. Fighting a tight handling condition, Armstrong was unable to move toward the front but brought home an 18th-place finish.

Dakoda Armstrong on Texas Motor Speedway…
“Every time we go back to Texas it seems like the track gains more character, which is something I personally really like. It makes the racing more interesting for the fans, and we can definitely find different grooves throughout the race to pass. It’s a fast track where clean air is huge, so we’ll have to step up in qualifying if we want to have a good night out front.”

Broadcast Information… The NCWTS race broadcast from Texas Motor Speedway will begin live on Fox Sports 1, beginning with the NCWTS Setup at 8:00 pm ET. Radio coverage of the event will be provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 8:30 pm ET.
