Final Three, Number Two… With just two races to go to complete the first full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season of his career, 22-year-old Dakoda Armstrong meets his final big obstacle of the season by visiting a track he has yet to race on this weekend at Phoenix. Though he has made previous starts in the USAC midget series on the old configuration of the one-mile oval, Armstrong has not yet tried his hand in the NCWTS ranks in Avondale, Ariz.

“I've only raced in open wheel cars at Phoenix prior to this weekend, and it was before they repaved the track. It's definitely going to be a challenge for us to see how quickly I can adapt and get up to speed during practice on Thursday. It's important to get as much practice time as we can, but not waste a ton of time on just getting me comfortable. I want to be able to closeout this year with a solid run in the final two races for sure."

Country Music Awards… Joining his sponsor, WinField, in Nashsville, Tenn., Armstrong will attend the Country Music Awards this Wednesday evening. Before heading to Arizona to compete in the NCWTS Lucas Oil 150, the Indiana native will brush shoulders with the top country music stars in the nation and help represent his sponsor and the sport away from the track.

This Weekend’s WinField Silverado… Brought out as a backup car at Martinsville after a practice crash eliminated Armstrong's primary WinField Silverado, chassis No. 007 will make its second start in two weeks this Friday at Phoenix. This chassis was also utilized by Wauters Motorsports earlier in the season at Iowa Speedway.

Previous Race Recap: Texas… Nearing the end of his first full NCWTS season, Dakoda Armstrong carried high expectations to Texas Motor Speedway last Friday night. After a strong run at the 1.5-mile facility in June and solid practice sessions on Thursday, the WinField crew hoped to carry their momentum into the WinStar world Casino 350. Plagued by handling woes from the drop of the green flag, Armstrong settled for a 17th-place finish.

Dakoda Armstrong on Phoenix Int'l Raceway…
"When I raced at Phoenix in the USAC Midgets, all I remember was how fast the track felt for how small it is. It's important to stay on your toes during this race because things happen so fast, especially since they repaved it. My crew chief, Richie Wauters, has had a lot of great runs and a win at Phoenix on his resume, so I know he'll bring me a fast WinField Silverado and has the experience to help get us a good finish."

Broadcast Information… The NCWTS race broadcast from Phoenix International Raceway is scheduled to begin live on Fox Sports 1, beginning with the NCWTS Setup at 8:00 pm ET. Radio coverage of the event will be provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 8:30 pm ET.
