Armstrong Looks for Redemption in Iowa
Posted: 8 years ago

This weekend, Dakoda Armstrong returns to a one of his favorite tracks on the NASCAR XFINITIY Series schedule, Iowa Speedway. The fast-paced short track favors Armstrong's driving style, and the WinField Crew hopes to find success in some new changes to their short-track program. This weekend's race is the first of two visits to the Midwest track this year. Currently, Armstrong sits 16th in the XFINITY Series Championship Point Standings and is looking to get back into the points race with a strong finish.

Armstrong has eight prior starts at Iowa Speedway between the XFINITY Series and the ARCA Racing Series. In his two XFINITY Series starts at the 7/8-mile track, he has an average finish of 21 and earned his best finish of fourth in the ARCA Series in 2010.

Armstrong Weekend Chatter

"We've been working hard to get the WinField Ford up front again. We were strong in Talladega, and showed good speed, luck just didn't fall our way. It served as a great reminder that we're working hard to get to where we want to be. I know we can do the same at Iowa this weekend. We haven't been where we want to be with our short-track program this season and we've been working on some new things to try out this weekend. We had some decent runs here last season, and I think we'll be good off of the truck. It's important to run well here, to get some momentum going, and get back in the points race."
