CONCORD, NC (May 29, 2016) - The NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend is always one of the most special races all year.  With family members in attendance, Dakoda Armstrong steered his No. 28 Winfield Toyota to a 21st-place finish in the running of the Hisense 300 at the Concord, North Carolina track.

"It is always special to race at Charlotte and it was great to have some family members here this weekend," said Armstrong.  "Our No. 28 Winfield Toyota was loose over the bumps for most of the race.  We made some changes to address that and our car was just totally different from that point on and we battled a tight condition.  Everyone on this JGL Racing worked hard all day and we were able to keep our nose clean and come home with a decent finish."

Dakoda would start the 300-mile event from the 23rd position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day.  With teams and drivers battling some of the hottest weather of the year so far, Armstrong would report that his No. 28 Winfield Toyota was just too free over the bumps which was hampering his progress.  With the race being plaqued by a total of 54 laps of caution, Dakoda and his JGL Racing crew would utilize the multiple opportunities to come down pit road for adjustments.  While he continued to battle the overall handling of his car, Armstrong would bring it home safely to a near miss top-20 finish.

"We continue to work on our speedway package and it seemed like we made more progress this weekend," added Dakoda.  "Our No. 28 Winfield Toyota was really good on old tires during the Thursday practice sessions.  On race day the track was just so slick and it was difficult early on to get the desired grip level.  We all continue to work together and make progress and I look forward to Pocono next week."

The 21st-place finish would keep Armstrong in the 16th position in the overall NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers' standings - 43 points out of the top-12.

Armstrong and his JGL Racing team will next head to Pocono Raceway for the running of the Pocono Green 250.  The 12th race of the NASCAR XFINITY Series season will be Saturday June 4th and can be seen LIVE on FOX at 1:00 pm ET.  It can also be heard on Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM Channel 90.
